Yep, there is always that little walk out to the coop with a cook book in hand and you start reading out the names of chicken recipes...Dang, mind havenkt even been through a moult sept one. I guess mine just went on strike period
Do you think one of those stick on undercounter lights with an LED and batteries in the roof of the coop would work? That would be a $10 and 1 minute solution -- but it would have to be on all night long IMO....Unless you made a trip to see that they are in and a later trip to turn off the night light......I have a similar story. My one pullet with cream hackles and a slight gold on her crest laid eggs for about a month & has stopped. Her hatch mate who is true cream all the way reached POL but never laid an egg. She was at least a month behind the first pullet and became a much bigger pullet. So with the declining daylight (& until I can get some wiring done), no more pretty blue eggs.![]()
