Crele Orpingtons - PIC's

So it sounds like we need "someone"...not necessarily involved with chickens...to buy the eggs we would like to have and send them to us via UPS International. UPS Express from Derbyshire to my hometown is $55.00. Example...leaves Derbyshire by 4:00 pm on 6/30...arrives at my house by 12:00 pm on 7/2.

Just sayin'..........

I know its illegal and all but I was wondering, what if someone here in the US was to contact a private breeder in the UK and just have them ship hatching eggs direct to the persons house without all the quarentine and such?

Well simply that would make you a criminal. We are talking chickens, whew to even contemplate illegal acts over access to some eggs? Are you kidding me?

Then customs agents come to your house and arrest you for smuggling and sieze everything. You put every chicken between here and there at risk of exposure and destruction.

LET'S ASK OPRAH TO GET US SOME.

Wow okay, hopefully no one does that.

Corancher, thats a good idea. Everyone can email Oprah and ask her to import birds for us, she gave people cars. I can just hear it on her tv show about chickens or something "...and everyone in the audience is getting a 2 trios of rare imported orpingtons! And home viewers can log onto the site for a chance at winning their own imported birds" lol

those eggs are on ebay? correct?

now ya know someone will probably contact selling and asked to get them shipped to U.S.

Not that it would be me...I can hardly cook an egg, let alone hatch one!

When you buy them through legal channels have them shipped to me and I'll try to incubate them for the low low cost of 1/2 of all birds that hatch.

LOL

dang...our family is a big ol' trouble makes already.....I dont think I am ready to cause no world wide chicken incident .....at least not yet. Now if I can just get this friend of mine in the red costume w/horns , sitting on my sholder, to stop whispering in my ear maybe the lightbulbs over my head will stop blinking.

Yes, these eggs are on the UK Ebay site. I emailed the seller and he replied that from what he had heard it was a big hassle/expense to get them to the US. His concern was hatchability due to the long travel time. After I get all the facts and figures, I'm going to email him again and ask if he would be willing to ship if I (we!!) pay all the expenses and compensate him for his time. I'll keep you posted via this thread...
