Morning...
I've just been busy at home chickens, cleaning and crocheting oh my

That dog that killed our chicken hasnt been back... yet. I did let the chickens free range yesterday afternoon and everything was fine, all 38 came in the run at bedtime. Took Dd15 back to the dr. yesterday afternoon too and everything is fine! The lump has went way down, the dr. (and us) was very happy with the results she saw. I'm so happy!

algopurple - That aint silly.... thats great! Wish I would fine a tub of yarn... my cousin still hasnt given me the tub of yarn she said she had! Hummm... I'm starting to wonder if there really is a tub of yarn!

baustin - Hope the surgery goes good.

Yeah Jen, I try not to get excited about promises made by family until I actually have in my hands whatever they said they were going to give me. I have a few people in my family that are like that. I never ask for things but they tell me they are going to give me yarn or something else they know I would like to have and they want to get rid of like canning jars.

DH's surgery went fine. As soon as the dilation goes down he'll be able to see better than he did with his glasses. No heavy lifting or bending for a week but he can do anything else including solitaire on the computer. Yes, it will be a long trip but we do this every other year but add different places to see. DH has children and grandchildren in KS and two sisters in their 90's in MO but the main trip is his university reunion at the Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, OK. We added SD this year so we could see MT. Rushmoor.

Thanks... I asked Dh to make me up a sign today, my sign was pitiful, lol We got 21 eggs yesterday... I just used about 24 to make some breakfast burritos to freeze and reheat and our back refrigerator has about 5-7 cartons, then there will be todays

Guess I'll make a breakfast casserole tonight, to throw in the oven in the morning............

Afternoon all!

Slowly I'm starting to get back into the swing of things.

After a summer from he**, we are temporarily living in a by the week motel. It's not the Taz Mahal, but it's clean and dry and we have a room with a full kitchen, so I'm getting back to cooking regularlly. It's very affordable for us, which is a necessity. DH had to quit his OTR trucking job after just 6 weeks because our son (he's autistic) quit eating when dh was gone...so home dh came. No job, way to expensive rent where we were living...I was working part time at JoAnns...but am giving my notice this week, as our week long sick weeks with ds began this week and retail isn't very understanding of Mama's missing 4 day of a week for a sick child.

BUT dh has a job at dh school as a therapy technician!! Pay isn't great, but works for us and he's already (after only 1.5 weeks) been told he's getting a raise. Full insurance and benefits, too. We now know why God sent us to Amarillo 3+ years ago and maybe why we've lived through he** for most of them up until now.

So...howdy everyone!! It's good to be back.

Also...I've gotten myself off the anti-depressants and am feeling great!

Update on broody hen... still sitting and should have baby chickies any day now!

Been working on alot of crocheting... learned the ripple stitch Friday evening, I posted pics. of stuff I've been working on in the What are you making thread............

So happy for you Jen!
My first time I could not stay away from the coop. Kept trying to peek at the hen without upsetting her.

I got my first bantam egg today! My BB Red hen had a few false alarms then finally left an egg on my back porch!
