I'm so sorry to hear about your silver seabright hen thats soooo sad, stupid coon. Glad you killed it!

Sad to say but we lost a baby chickie yesterday... I had them outside with Momma and didnt know the cat was around and as close as it was... it snatched a baby chick and ran off with it before we knew what happened

by the time we realized and ran after the cat, it had already killed it.

Also I made another hugger cap with the same pattern this time its wayyyy better (I was doing something wrong the 1st time) but I'd still like it tighter, going to try to make another one tomorrow, and see what else I'm doing wrong.

So thats how those funny nicknames get started. Twenty years from now he'll still be trying to explain why everyone calls him Spud!

Sold 4 chickens Saturday. Didn't really want to cuz I knew they were going to make mole' (mexican dish) out of them. They were my 3 oldest barred rock hens and a less than year old annoying game roo.

How has everyone else been doing? Have not heard from alot of people that were regulars on here in a long time.

That gave me a good giggle.

When my youngest was tiny, I ended up using one of those baby slings. Saved my sanity. He was in and out of the hospital with surgeries and was not allowed to move this way, do that, etc. In order for me to be able to even do the dishes, he went into the sling. We were a sight around town. I live in the country you see and slings are for "earth cookies and city folk"!

Fond memories now that he is 13!
