That is such a bright and cheery pattern! Welcome to the crochet thread and to BYC! I make the third person, so far, that have a problem finishing one project before I start another. The creative process is so much fun that it's hard to keep focused on finishing things.

DH is really good at keeping me on track though. He likes to say, "Ok, only 15 projects allowed at a time please. When you want to start on number 16, please try to finish one of the other projects first"!

I think we ALL have projects like that!!!
I couldn't COUNT how many I have on the go!!!!
LOL!!
Welcome ALL the Newbies!! I too started off just reading and studying up all about chickens on here... Now? Now I spend my time off & on, here on This thread!! LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!

Hi everyone that's new. I've been on some of the other swaps and we have lots of fun with them. I just printed out that yo yo pattern. Wow! and do I have scraps. I've made so many afghans and also tablecloths, bedspreads and a canopy that I made for my stepmom 20 years ago and now that's she's gone I have it and the bed I made it for. I've been crocheting since I was 10 so that makes it....let me see if I have my math right.....that's 61 years. I also knit and quilt but I prefer crocheting to knitting. When we decide on the swap wouldn't it be better for us all to either make all yarn blocks or all cotton ones so they all go together? I think you're right on the postage but checking it out is a good idea. I used the flat rate with some quilt blocks I made for a swap and they worked out fine but there might be a better idea.

I agree. We should use the same type of yarn. Just let me know when you decide. There isn't much that I don't have right now (I've been hoarding yarn for way too many years now) so I'm OK with whatever you all decide.

Whew! Thanks! I feel better knowing there are others out there like me!

Good to know that the flat rate envelopes worked for your quilt blocks, then I'm sure they will work for our squares.

I'm game for any idea. Cheaper the better! I'm betting the flat rate envelopes will win the cheapest fee. I'll check it for all of us.
Yes, all granny squares (yarn blocks) should all be the same size 6" squares. (6"x6") That makes joining them together easier if they are all the same size.

*They can be any pattern from the traditional basic to whatever as long as the finished product is 6" square. Million patterns out there. OR do we want them all to be traditional basic design????

*Let's talk about color & yarn now before I post the official sign up separate thread w/ all the rules & deadlines. I usually use a 4 ply medium acrylic worsted yarn b/c I like the way it makes a nice stiff granny square. Really I am game for whatever.....just thought having a goal to focus on would get me back in the swing of hookin'.

I also have a million UNFINISHED projects
tongue.png
as well, sitting in my official unfinished project basket stashed in a corner of my living room. I think I also have some stashed away w/ my hoards of yarn as well. OK, not a million, but enough to keep me busy. Of course I have ideas of other projects popping in my head all the time.

So let me hear everyone's opinion on types of yarn.

Normal 4ply acrylic yarn is fine by me.. Color can vary! Mixing & Matching up everyone's square make each afghan unique!
6x6 square, no matter the pattern, shouldn't be an issue to match up together! Variety is Great!!!

I go along with the 4 ply yarn and no particular pattern as long as they come out 6x6. Are we going to go multicolored or solid colored blocks? I don't care as long as everyone else is happy. Are we thinking time at this point or will we decide later on? I have no preference either.

Somene has been busy. How pretty the dress is. The hat and animal are so cute. I'm about ready to start a new crochet project, maybe some scrubbies to add to the wedding stuff for my granddaughters wedding. I may do some dish cloths also. I have her quilt to bind first.
