Welcome to the crochet thread! LOL! No pun intended. Love your blog! That Squishy is the cutest thing yet! Those Mary Janes are adorable too.

Kim I finally understand the shipping plan now. For some ridiculous reason I was thinking I needed to send money for every person my squares were going to! Just sending return postage for myself makes much more sense!!!

In my defense, I haven't had much sleep this week! We are moving and the stress is causing some horrendous insomnia!

We are going to have plenty of time to complete these right? I love to crochet but I'm not very fast.

greenfamilyfarms I would treasure your first attempts at crochet!!!

baustin~ YAY!!!!

So glad you will join the granny square swap. It's long over due to have one again. I think the flat rate envelopes sound wonderful, but want to make sure it's the cheapest way to go.

I called the PO and they do have some free envelopes legal size for mailing flat rate @ $4.75. (I likey that price!) I'll go on Mon to check them out and see if they look like all our swap squares will fit. Heck, I'll just bring one of my big bag stashes of squares from the other swaps to get some advice on our cheapest way to go.

I would love to see a pic of all these wonderful afghans you whip up so quickly and give as gifts.

greenfamilyfarms~ Of course we want one of your squares. I will also cherish it! You will not be the first person to learn how to crochet right before joining a swap. You can do it!!!!

elcunni75~ I'm still catching up on post, but some pages back I read that you made a cocoon for a friend that had twins. How adorable!!!! I just received a free pattern for those and was wondering how hard it would be to make. They look so snugly for a baby. Pics please!!!!

SunnyDawn~ Don't worry about it! I was feeling horrible that we were having to pay for mailing twice.

Oh moving...yipes!!!!!

How is that going? It's always been stressful, crazy & unorganized for me. I cringe thinking about my past experiences. I hope you can get settled and get some shut eye soon. I hate insomnia! Don't worry you will have plenty of time to complete the squares. I'm pretty sure last swap we had a month or 2 deadline. I'm slow as well, but find they can go quickly once I get focused and in the grove. Very relaxing to do as I watch a little night time TV before bed time. I can eventually crank one or two out a night. Basic pattern, that is. New patterns don't fall into a grove so quickly.

Lealonna~ So glad your sister saw the crochet thread to spread the word to you.

All your work posted on your blog is so beautiful! Love it!!!!

I remember my grandma use to crochet those mary jane slippers, but they didn't quite look as hip as yours.

Love the bag!!!! I've been wanting to make one of those for years.

These cocoons I had gotten the pattern from Annie's Attic book Cuddle Cocoons. It's the Hooded Cocoon by Sandy Powers!!
Worked up SO quick for me, but I've been crocheting for nearly 30yrs and was on vacation (Lake-side on a beach) for a week!!!

I've been told that when things settle down for the new Mommy, she plans on having an Anne Geddings type of photo shoot with the cocoons and babies!

I CAN'T WAIT!!

What.. there's crochet here too !

I've been studying the chickens and never looked here.

I'm a big time afghan person. Can't stop wanting to start the next pattern before I'm done with what's in my lap.
So Hi everybody.

Bumblebee

Welcome, cluckinthecity! I'm new here, too. It's always nice to meet people who love to crochet!
It sounds like we have a bit in common - always wanting to start another project before finishing the last. Perhaps that's why I've been working on the same blanket for over a year..... doing a lot of other things in between! lol

Thank you SunnyDawn for the welcome and compliments, and thank you, Kim, for your compliments.
I feel very welcome, and it is very nice to be able to talk to other people who love crafting and crocheting!

That is such a bright and cheery pattern! Welcome to the crochet thread and to BYC! I make the third person, so far, that have a problem finishing one project before I start another. The creative process is so much fun that it's hard to keep focused on finishing things.

DH is really good at keeping me on track though. He likes to say, "Ok, only 15 projects allowed at a time please. When you want to start on number 16, please try to finish one of the other projects first"!
