Crochet "Chat"

Kate what is a number 5 hook? I'm afraid mine all have the letters on them instead of numbers. That or my tired eyes can't read the numbers (I can't seem to find my reading glasses since we moved).

I mean Spring swap, Summer, then Fall or Christmas swap.

A Christmas swap would be so cool! Well, we would need to turn them in about this time next year cause we all get so busy during the holidays but wouldn't that be awesome?!!

I'm good for opening mouth and inserting foot. What do you think about doing our granny squares like the fall swap? If we keep them simple then everyone can join in and not be intimidated by a pattern. They can do one they're comfortable with.

It does look like we have several swaps in the future. What fun.....

I was looking at my yarn stash and have some greens but low on blues and lavenders so guess I can go shopping. Yippee!

Our Spring Break is March 12 - 23, 2 weeks, and then we have April 6 - 9 for the rest of the break. Year round school lol. The first two weeks of April are always tied up for testing, so we will be working on them long before! Just set whatever date you want and we will work with it. I told the kids this morning and they are "psyched" out about it!

That sounds great Betty! I love the idea of having the color wheel or a color palette posted on the swap thread for color reference. I think it really helped in the Fall swap for everyone's colors to blend. I also like keeping them all the same size so it's easier to connect them. You can copy & paste and edit the Fall Swap info if need be. I also did a search and looked at all the swap threads in the past when I was putting the info together. I like the idea of simple 6" granny's also w/ floral ones. I think every afghan needs those simplistic solid basic granny squares to balance out an afghan if there are a lot of diff patterns going on. You will be a fantastic hostess!!! So AWESOME we have several "Hooker Hostess" lined up for the many swaps to come.

I will check my hook stash and see if I have any extras for you. My MIL said she bought a crochet stash from her church rummage sale for me that had yarn, squares & maybe some hook in it. Can't wait to see what is in it.

Yes I loved the freedom of doing different patterns so everyone can be a part. That was awesome.
