Crochet "Chat"

It will be great for us too since we will get to see the kid's work for ourselves! I just looked for my yarn and can't find it so DH must have moved it. We are still unpacking so this is an everyday occurance. I have a bunch of it in different boxes and it does kinda get in the way. I'll make a note to look for it tomorrow.

I don't mind doing it. I'll just have to learn how to post it. Guess I can find out from everyone else that's done it before. Like you said it's for spring and we have a while yet. I opened mouth and inserted foot and volunteered to chair the fundraising committee for our local quilt guild and I've never done that before. I also took over the Masonic newsletter that comes out once a month but that's a piece of cake. That's only an hour or two a month. That's what keeps us young....doing new things and to quote something my mother used to tell me when I was little and said "I can't", she'd come back and say "can't is don't try."

Ha ha ha! I love that! I'm not sure what you need to learn. I've seen pics that you've posted so you know how to post those. Tell me what you need to learn and I'll help you learn it.

I'm sure I can look at the other posts for swaps and figure it out. Since we have some new people just learning that want to swap and Kate's class is involved we can help with them finding patterns and give them lots of time. Blues, greens, pinks, & lavenders are cool colors and we can stick to granny squares which take in all kinds of patterns, even if flowers are added. We'll need to pick a date that Kate can work with within her school schedule so the blocks can be swapped and mailed it out before school is out. Kate can tell us what would be best for her, maybe having them in by Spring break so they can be mailed out soon after. What say you Kate? I think six inch squares would work as they don't use as much yarn and don't take as much time to do.

Actually pink is on the warm end of the color wheel (it's just a diluted red). But yes blues, greens and lavenders are considered cool colors. However if you want to change the color scheme that is ok too. I will do the cool color scheme with the next swap.

I would love to join this swap. I have some blue, lavender and purple yarns which I think are 4-ply acrylic. I'd have to check.

Here's a question. I'm not in a position to receive the squares. May I make some and donate them? It would be enough to know others are enjoying them and if someone would like to post pictures of what they make with them, I'd be delighted.

I'm still committed to the Milky Way afghan, but can alternate crocheting time.

I'll check the calendar at school tomorrow to see when Spring Break is, but don't let us hold you up. We meet every week and a lot of them crochet during the day when they get done with assignments. I'll check out yarn stash and see what we have to use, we've got some left-overs from lap blankets and such. How many do you usually make?

My students would be happy to get some from you and show what they make out of them. They can get really creative lol!! they donate so much I'd like them to make more things for themselves this year.

We usually make as many as the number of people that sign up. Some of us go overboard and double the amount but it isn't necessary. I still like the cool colors and yes, pink is in this sector also. If ten sign up then we each make at least ten but if someone makes extra then it's extra for everyone, they're divided accordingly. We have plenty of time to decide all of this since we aren't in a hurry to post the swap.
