Crochet "Chat"

Where have ya'll been hiding all this time? I've been a byc'r for 4yrs and haven't found this fun corner of the forums? Holy moley, I've got some reading to catch up on! I'd like to introduce myself: I'm a lifelong crochet addict - my grandmother could knit amazingly beautiful things - but sadly, when I knit, I'm too tight/tense/something - and the items do not come out as planned. Nor do my elbows appreciate all that tenseness (I actually gave myself tennis elbow from knitting a sweater!). So I crochet. And I embroider (hardanger is a passion). And I weave, although not so much this winter - I'm not inspired to at the moment. And I enjoy being creative and making life beautiful by making beautiful things. Current project? A sweater vest from here:

www.redheart.com (called painted wool vest) I enjoy using great fibers - and this is a fun variegated yarn which worked up beautifully for a crocheted hat from Crocheted One Skein Wonders book, although it took a skein and a half because it was an adult size not a toddler size....but hey, that's ok - I needed another fix at the yarn shop! Great book, by the way, if you've not seen it lately. I found it at JoAnn Fabrics:

At any rate - nice to 'be' here and I look forward to being inspired and helping others too. Makes life more fun, doesn't it?
Welcome! I haven't been on BYC much lately but this is 1 thread I still enjoy. I've gotten so many wonderful ideas from this thread and the folks here keep me inspired when I start to procrastinate. :)

If you just click this text: Rooster Of My Dreams Ornament it should take you right there as I put a link to it. Posting a pattern takes a bit of time-a bit of formatting and uploading photos and whatnot so I just keep them all in one place-sometimes I have them downloadable on Ravelry-and other times (mainly when they haven't been tested) I put them on my blog. :)
Could you PM me your address? You should receive at least a couple dollars for your pattern. I appreciate it and it will come in handy for all that leftover yarn.

I just "selected" the pattern off your blog and printed it.

Aww you are too sweet! :) I don't mind sharing some free patterns-I do have some out there that are paid-and I feel it all balances out. I make enough to donate hats to charities and cover some yarn costs. :) It's all fun for me, if someone enjoys the pattern, that is thanks enough for me!

charity is why I want to make these. We have a store in the church and items donated go to fund an orphanage in India. I really do wish you'd let me send you a few dollars. I'm sure it took a bit of time to design and create the ornament. Then YOU could donate the money to a charity if you wish.

That makes my heart sing-and that is worth more than money any day! Keep on making the world a better place one stitch at a time! :)

Love him! I really am loving those birds!!!

My latest crochet creation was a zombie hat-because the Walking Dead Mid Season Premier was last Sunday...But now I'm back on my knitting needles for today. :)

Forgot I made these guys too. I like to 'peep' the neighbors on Easter Eve...so I had to build up my supplies. tee hee!
They are really nice.

Since I don't have your address, I'll put an extra $5 in the box in your honor. You can see pictures of the orphanage on the Livingwrd.org web page. click at the lower page Outreach to India.

Thanks again for the pattern.
