Crochet "Chat"

My Grandmother had a lot of junk..to me anyway. Mom had about half of what Grammie had. I don't put much of anything up. I really don't like to clean. It's great for someone with lots of family. I have none. Just hubby and I. I have a couple of doilies and some german china on a buffet. Hubby puts up pictures that i do dust...grumble grumble.. I would not bother if I was here by myself. He also has plants that i DON'T take care of. Mostly christmas cactus plants.I think around 10 or so plus boo bush and some other weird looking fellows(plants). Now my friend is a different story. She has cow stuff and lots of blue stuff. Her favorite things. It looks nice the way she has it scattered about.. She does a great job with decorating. I would go mad with all that stuff. Our barn is full of stuff. Ha ha I don't go out there much. I think it's hell. I am sure it is. It's hot in there in the summer and freezing in the winter. No lights. Hubby is so tight he squeaks. I have to run a extension cord for lights.

Kassaundra: I live in Maine and it's not real dusty here so maybe it does really depend on where your at. We get pollen in the spring This week there's a bunch of that ugly pollen on the pond. Weird right.. Looks like vomit soup.

Gross. Instead of dust we get mold. It's real humid in the summer here. I use lots of bleach on the walls and floors. Next year I might get a dehumidifier
.

I remember how it was back in the day. Gosh my Mother used a wringer washing machine with the ringer on the top. Hellish thing. We had an outhouse until I was 5. Today life is real good. I love all the new stuff. The computer being my favorite. Ok I am done now I had not intended to write a book here.

My writing is not so good so please take it with a grain of salt or something like that. Don't really remember the old saying.

I have to add something. I used sugar water starch but it was hard to wash. I ended up boiling my doily to get the sugar out. I use stiffy stiffener. Seems to wash up good. Gets real hard. I don't really like the name though. Sounds a little trashy. I think they could have come up with a better name.
Well I will take the Okie dust everyday over your winters!!!!!!

I don't mind them. I am in most the time and have horrid hot flashes. Sometimes it gets interesting with the snow storms. I worry more about the ice.

I have an intense hatred of being cold, I think I live at the northernmost reaches suitable for human habitation, and if I could swing it I would soooo move and build my hut right on the equator! Even as a child w/ all the other kids playing in the snow and sledding and building snow forts (CT not OK) I never joined, never played in it, always hated it, was always so cold it hurt, even w/ snow suit, mittens, boots and thermals. I always have a coat w/ me even in 110 degree summers b/c of the inside airconditioning being so cold. I start wearing a coat outside when the temps hit the lower 70's, and think I am dying when they drop below 50.

I get that. I am not real big on the sub zero temps. I was not bothered by the cold when I was young. I played outside for hours. Skating, sliding all that fun stuff. Summer I was swimming in the "cold ocean". I cannot swim in it anymore too cold even in the summer. Ahhh days gone by.

1.. I used to collect until I saw an antique store full of others collections. Not to mention dishes and other things folks had acquired. I figure to heck with this. Why spend money on things my kids will dump when I'm dead and gone.
Too I see these storage places full of crap. Why not just sell it and spend the money on me. Not paying to store stuff you will never use.
DW has a collection of Victoria magazines that she has never looked at in the years we've moved into this house. Won't let me toss them either, but you can bet your sweet bippy they'll get tossed when we're dead.

I do like houseplants but if they die they die. Most do, but a few live.

As for that ringer washer, I had small sized one when I was single. DW used it for a while till a co worker sold us her small automatic washer.

YES! I'm at a good place to start a project. It would be my first doily so a crochet-a-long would be perfect!!!
I would be Iv'e still got ten 12" squares for the granny square swap and DD wants me to make an afghan for her. GD wants one too.

I've so much to do I need to be two people. I take things along to the doc appts for DW but we rarely have to wait very long.
