Crochet "Chat"

I think that's fine, Skand. It's better than her laying on her side. Mine have sat/laid in the head down, butt up position before. I think that is more of a natural way for them to sit/lay.
I hope she continues to improve. Sounds like some yogurt and oatmeal are high on the diet suggestions. If she can't do chunky, then maybe that malt-o-meal consistency stuff....

Skand hope your babie feels better!!

I'm fixing up and area in the coop that I can get heat lamp on my silkies. Chickens in the house are driving me batty. They are quite big. If it gets really cold I may bring them back in but it has warmed up a little here so out they go.

I used a little dawn on mine and it really killed the stink. Mine got bathed twice before I could stand them.

I like it because it makes me feel warm just looking at it, SE!

Those pups are really cute hamming it up too.

Chix, Our chicks are going outside next weekend, too. My house chicken isn't driving me batty, but my porch crazies are. Only a few choice ones are going to be able to remain inside. Those are just too small or to vulnerable to attack to go out yet. I am getting nervous for the rest of them though now... hoping the weather will hold...

Well ladies and germs... my lil gal didnt make it. She had been breathing really deep hard breaths, and I force drank her some sugar water, she either choked on it, or it was too much for her weak system to handle. Dont feel bad, it was probably best for her. I can only imagine if she had lived, that she would have had a hard time making it. Bad health can rear its ugly head any time during life, and that girl had really bad health. besides,,, there's more where she came from, and the others are doing superb! Went out and gave crackers to them, just because.

Awe sorry skand,,,,,,,,I have done that when trying to help and i think I choked the baby. Felt guilty, but you try to help and thats all you can do. We are only human.

Skand I did really clean up my hand and then I used some med I had left over from when my roo had bumblefoot and today my hand is much better. A little spot is still red so I need to keep an eye on that. Glad I didnt have to go the doctor. If I have to I will lance it and put some more bumblefoot medicine on it.

Scrambled that is a nice blankey. I like the way it is crochetted with the lines going across the horizontal of the bed. I need to make a pattern for one like that for my son.

Risurocket how bout the weather?

Sweet,, I moved two more outside yesterday. I heard it is supposed to cool off a bit, but I hardly think it will be as bad as it was. I turned the thermostat down to 50 yesterday and opened a window for a while.

O skand thats aweful, (I am reading this thread backwards), about trading your birds for his. The jerk!!! I hope he tales care of your birds. Thats so sad to think of the feeding situation. I coooked a lot of oatmeal up for some of my birds when they were skinny and it really fattens yhem up. But with that many birds it could be expensive. Maybe a bag of oats and soak them?

Risurocket I have a nice pair of white silkies that you can have real cheap.

I know you need them.

They are just about breeding age and I want to find them a good home. I also have 2 black silkie boys that are best friends. But who wants two boys?

oh and duh!! I almost forgot!! Thank you to everyone that gave me advice about the fun fur!! I have some white that I can use with it. I hope it's cute!! Still haven't found the adapter card or the cord. Will keep looking. I prolly put it in some weird place like I usually do.

. Okiemommy I am sorry about the diagnosis of your son.

I am sure the initial shock is just aweful. I have no experience with autism so I really do not know what to say. I do think that once your family gets into a pattern of dealing with this it will become easier.

These were going to be for show, but dear Sam here has developed a large ridge down the middle of his comb. Otherwise they are nice silkies. I would keep them but I live in a residential area so I must 'get rid' of the ones I can't use. I don't want to just get rid of Sam because he will just be dinner. But the two of them could have nice babys. I am starting new with eggs this year. So risurocket you can have them if you want and we could meet someplace. Don't worry no preasure, if you dont want them. I am just offering them so they could have a good home.

hahaha Tiki.. wanna talk expensive habits? add 27 to about oh we'll go 300. Not even a drop in the bucket. Our secret to making it stretch further.. get game bird feed. Each bag is 50 lbs, we use game conditioner, game maintenence, 3 grain scratch, mix it up, you got more protein then you realize. In the mornings, we feed a coffee canful per pen. Then in the evenings, we take the scraps from the day, add a cup of dry cat food, and a coffee can full of the feed. Throughout the day, we'll toss some crackers, bread, cereal, oats, whatever we see that think they might like. Everyone tells us we got some fat birds! I dont know.. you tell me. lol
