Just socializing them works wonders. No you can never put two boys near each other again for the rest of thier lives, just like with regular roos, but, they can become respectful of humans. Which to me, seems like the biggest problem. It's the same answer to a lot of pet problems in this country. If it doesnt make nice to me, it shall be killed. -NOT! in our vocabulary!
Our fave roo, Mijho, he is a retired fighter. That bird respects me more then Jim. Mijho was given to us because he lost a fight. Even popcorn, the white leghorn, Mijho kicks his tail every time I'm talking to him, and popcorn comes by to make a brat of hisself.
You can have them in seperate pens next to each other. They love to talk to others, but there would have to be a divider so they dont get thierselves attached to the fence. Spurs will need to be trimmed, that's the biggest issue, next to antibiotics and war wound cleansing. But they are like dogs, they know if your heart is pure, they will treat you nicer.

Sam and Clara need baths. OH well I am not really in the mood but I suppose..........

I am going to let them run around in the kitchen today. Sam will wear a diaper but Clara wont.

A couple days ago I had the two banty cochins running around and they were clucking and chortling to each other for about an hour. Next thing I knew they had both jumped into the covered cat litter box.

OMGoodness. Luckily I was right there and got them out. Well I guess they were looking for a spot for her to lay an egg. Next thing I know the two were sitting contentedly in the other room and there was an egg between them.

You and Jim will know how to take care of them. Myself...never had luck with roosters. Even though I think they are so awesome. Mine always turn into assassins towards my kids. I have 5 "mistake" roo from my chicks we got in the fall. So far they are nice but I know how that changes so quickly. I always rehome my roos. I would really like to keep mine. I have two golden laced and 3 polish. I think the polish are so neat. I love their mohawks.

I can't keep up with you all today...you keep posting before I can post.

Tiki your banties sound like quite the characters. House chickens are so funny. Mine is obsessed with grapes. Every time I open the fridge, she attacks the crisper drawer until I open it and she steals grapes before I can get them out for her. Your banty crows? you sure she's a she?

I am very attached to my roo too. I hope I can set him up with a harem that satisfies him.

Yay! Looking forward to my mail today.

As I was telling Skand, I have a huge cleaning project and housing setting up thing to do after my porch crazies are moved outside... and I am hoping that I can do good stuff for possible new arrivals. I want everything clean and properly set up, including my house chicken.

I have house chickens! Bantams! Right now only mutts from Dipsy Doodle Doo. Photos are on my blog, link in my siggy. I have 22 more of her eggs in the bator and also 9 Porcelain D'Uccles and 6 Buttercups. Have 10 Bantam Salmon Favorelles and 6 Bantam Buff Brahmas due in the mail today!!!

All are in the house with us.

But, this weekend I hope to sell all but 3 of the 10 we have in the house right now. Most of the others will be sold, too, once they are old enough to sex. We just love hatching, but unfortunately can't keep them all.

Our little roo, Gabe loves to watch us play Yahtzee!!! He sat with us through an entire game last week! I will be posting those photos on my blog in a day or so. It was quite neat. HE's quite the neat guy.
