Hi Everyone... you all are such a bad influence... like I needed something else to sit me down and not do any work
Actually, I did... I need something to relax me and help me manage stress, so why not crochet right?
I had a basic lesson about a decade ago from my Mom-in-law, helped her work a baby blanket. But then life got busy, and I haven't ever really crocheted anything of my own. So yesterday I picked up a couple of skeins and a hook (medium size) and got started again. WOW.. I totally forgot everything except the daisy chain you start with! A few tutorials online and I was off..
I tried to make a blanket.. and may still do that, but something happened of course, and now my blanket is half the size of the chain I started with! LOL owell.. live and learn I suppose. So I'm going to keep working it... I can always do blocks and merge them together or add a perimeter trim to it later.
What I've learned:
Light yarn is easier to see & work with
The need to pull everything tight does NOT belong in this hobby
Crocheting is addicting... I stayed up till 4 am... just couldn't put it down!
Patterns for crocheting are written in a special language not meant for newbies to understand!
Counting the number of loops in a row is CRAZY and meant for the experienced only!
Thanks for the nudge, we should be cozy warm this winter... or at least half of my body will
hopefully it doesn't get any smaller!!!
