Very cool!!!! What a fantastic story! I've met some really nice people here on BYC over the years that I would love to meet in person one day.

Thanks. I think its cool too the way we met, then clicked & now are friends... they have been over once to visit & are coming over to hang out on the 29, we are gonna make goat ice cream & hopefully hang out at the fire pit with weather permits. Shes on fb too so we talk just about everyday. God knew we would make great friends when he brought us together in blog world

So glad you had enough yarn. I'll take a peek of it. I bought some camo yarn last yr in hopes to make my nephew a hat for X-mas last yr, but ran out of time.

I totally forgot the other day that a friend of mine has goats, b/c I don't see much of her any more like I used to when our kids were younger. Her DD has grown up w/ my DD since 3rd grade and she is in my Girl Scout troop. The girls are Seniors this year. Her younger DD is also in my troop and oldest son is pretty close to us as well. Anyway, she had to call me to make sure her cookie order was tacked on her DD GS Cookie order sheet and I asked her what she's been up too and she said just taking care of her goats. It was just a few days after I was drooling over Muller's talk of all the yummy stuff she makes w/ her milk. LOL!!! I asked if she had milk goats and she does this yr I think Nubrains. I didn't realize there were so many diff breeds of milk goats. I told her about all the yummy things my friends on BYC were making w/ their milk.

Does anyone have good ideas on what to do with the scraps of yarn left over & too small to use? I think of stuffing pillows, which I'm not likely to do, and using them as packing material, though I rarely send anything other than crocheted items.

Adorable!!! The precious baby..and the hat! Well done, enjoy the little one!

Make headbands with small amounts of yarn...I've made my daughter several, then use up the rest of another yarn with flowers, leaves, etc...

Thank You... I love that I was able to make it for her, something little could mean so much, I'm sure a cute story we'll talk about when shes older. I need to pick up some more camo, great color to have on hand.

Nice story... There are alot of different dairy breeds and I hardly know any, lol. I just jumped into havin dairy goat (any goats for that matter) this summer with both feet. I have to boars also. Look up Our Little Farm on fb too, thats another "Like" page I have, lol. Can you tell I'm addicted to fb!

Oh it sounds so cool!!!! Sounds like you are diligently working on it. I have a whole big basket of stashed unfinished projects sitting in the corner of my living room I need get back to. I know ALL too well about projects taking awhile.

It does sound cool! I'm having a hard time picturing what it might look like when it's done but I'll be patient and wait for the big unveiling.

Dawn,

I could imagine it when I started, but it is taking on a life of it's own & I'll be as surprized as anyone.

Navy is the only color I am getting. The other colors are yarns I have, hence the variations on the theme. It is a 9x9 old fashioned granny square afghan. Each square has a white center (if I run out of white yarn, some may be yellow or orange). Most of the squares will be navy. There will be a diagonal row of light blue (and navy) going from upper right to lower left. To either side of the row is a row of light blue, grey and navy. The blues and greys will vary. I have some sparkly thread with satiny colored squares in it and am working this thread in with the yarns other than the white. I have four spools of it, each a different color. I'm on square #17 and the last spool, so think that, other than the diagonal design, everything else will just be navy.

Does that help? I'm projecting it should be finished in late December. Bok.

Yes it does, Thank you! Wow, by December? That's just around the corner. When you said it would be awhile I was thinking a year or two.
