Crooked duckling?

Our KC hen has a crooked butt. Her tail feathers are offset about 45 degrees from center to the right and up. It does not seem to affect her.

Yeah...my friends duck has a crooked tail...just bent to the left a little more then it should be, but he is more then a year old and very happy! I think your babies are adorable...keep in mind they grow real fast..so spend lots of time with them before they are all grown!

Someone awhile back has a duck born with no tail, It was actualy cute but he pooped horizontaly hahaha

If it were mine I would try to give lots of extra vitamins. I would be giving Nutri drench and extra vitamin E. Scrabble eggs is also full of great nutrition and easy for ducklings to eat/digest. It may not help but it certainly won't hurt. I've had late hatchers that had similar problems that did great after extra vitamins and some that never got better.

It can get harder for them as they grow if it isn't corrected. I had one that developed wry neck and no amount of extras helped him (I think it was genetic). His head practically faced backward by the time he fully feathered. He could eat and drink okay but he was much skinnier than the others. He had trouble bathing himself and walking (couldn't really see where he was going). He also didn't seem as happy as the others.

I don't want to seem like a Debbie Downer here, just think it would be better to try to treat it instead of doing nothing.

You are right, no harm in trying to correct it. Might also be a good idea to give some sort of b complex too.

Liquid B complex added daily to feed or treats can not hurt but may help. TSC has one in the cattle section that one will be 1 ml daily or buy human and give 3ml daily it’s not as concentrated as the cattle one.
