We bought a new Chocolate Muscovy hen from Saladin. hoping to improve our "beautiful" Muscovy Ducks.

It's not a beauty contest. It is about which bird most closely meets its SOP. That must have been one heck of a Muscovy to win over all that competition.

Yep, One of Danny's muscovy's beat out my LF dark Brahma as Gr Ch at the Florida State Fair a couple of years ago, too...LOL

I thought coloring 'useless' cockerals was marketing genious! And very entertaining to look at. The one painted to look like a lovebird was gorgeous!

And the dyes were the long-term variety used to paint dogs & cats, so these birds will be pretty colorful until they molt, unless they're washed a lot. So they'll probably be pretty until next year unless someone leaves them out in the rain.....


I would rather see painted birds than 20 birds crammed into a cage big enough for 4 birds!

Some breed clubs bought a sales booth and shared it. There were some crowded cages. but over all, it was not that bad.

I thought the colored Sikies were cute.
I have a pic of them in my photo album.
Just food dye that wears off . No big whoop IMO
