Curing scaly leg mites

A couple of my hens have scaly leg mites.
What should I use to help it?

Also, is it a disease that can spread to other chickens?

Treatment should be continued for weeks until you see new scales growing in.

Some folks use a toothbrush to try a d exfoliate those dead/raised scales. I don't know if that's part of your current regimen.

So sorry I forgot to take pictures Sorry for the delay
I believe their feet are getting better. 3 of my hens currently have severe scaly leg mites, so I am working on treating each of them once a week. I believe they're getting better.

Here are some pictures: (please excuse the dirty feet; after washing and applying Vaseline, dirt/dust/feathers stick easily to their feet... and excuse the bad quality, the chickens are quite squirmy so it was hard to get a good photo)

Here are the legs of my silkie, after multiple treatments. Most of the others are healing up well too.

How often are you treating the leg mites and with what exactly? It is going to take more time, but I would smother the scales with vaseline 1-2 times a week. It can take months for the new scales to grow in. You also might want to treat the coop with permethrin spray after removing all of the bedding, and put fresh bedding in the coop.

You can do a Soap water scrub, & slather in petroleum Jelly, or vaseline to smother the mites.

Check your coop, especially the roost bar because they probably are there.
