Oh no! Two times now!

What is wrong with USPS !

The milder weather should really help.

USPS is not doing well... they're making me sick! ie: Lady had ordered (our best) steaks sent to her daughter two weeks ago. The first shipment went out on a Wed. disappeared, then showed up in Puerto Rico on Fri.,(instead of WA) & just SAT there until Monday! Was delivered Monday, thawed & warm. Replacement shipment was sent last Tuesday - no tracking first two days, then is showed up in Memphis, then disappeared for another two days - Sat in Federal, WA for two days and was delivered a little over an hour ago, leaking and stinking. These are packed in dry ice & clearly labeled in 1" bright blue letters "Frozen Grass Fed Beef" and "Dry Ice 5lbs" as per postal regulations, shipped guaranteed two day delivery, and they still felt no need to do anything except put the thawed nasty box in a plastic tub to deliver it.

GRRRRR!!!!!

That is terrible!

Sally, chicks are usually headed out in the right direction, and make it pretty quick to their destination. They are too noisy to not be noticed or forgotten about. :) I say usually. Bet your babies make it fine.

Gerbils...that is just awful... Ins.?

Claim on the first one is filed, it's up to them to decide whether or not to pay it Will file on the second one later tonight, same story though. Can only claim the retail of the steaks less the discount I gave her; not the thirty bucks for dry ice or the extra three hour round trip to pick it up, (we have to order it in fifty pound lots), or the ten apiece for the custom cartons... After I refund the sale, *if* they pay the claims we'll only have lost about sixty bucks. We're out of Private Reserve steaks, so I have to refund - kinda glad, because I would feel compelled to send the next one by FedEx Overnight, and I'd have to eat the cost difference, which is a much bigger loss. *sigh*
But! tomorrow is another day - and I have BO's with internal pips tonight in the Brinsea!

oh No! dont tell me that! our first ever shipment of chicks went out on the express truck this afternoon from our local, I am a fretting mother hen!

If they went express, they should be fine. I used to work for them (I'm much better now) and Express always got special attention - they know the clock is ticking. Now that they call almost everything 'Priority', that word has no meaning to them.

Two years ago, I had two - count them, two! shipments of hatchery chicks routed (by USPS) to Pittsburgh airport instead of Charleston during a week-long April freeze; got two boxes of sad, saved nine out of 125. Hatchery was wonderful. USPS people think the maddening cheeping is cheerful and means the chicks are happy...

I know what you mean about worrying - Every time I have a perishable shipment out there, the tracking window stays open on my desktop until it arrives (for easy hourly access!) I will think positive thoughts for your chicks!

Ron - congratulations, I am very happy you have received this well-deserved designation!

USPS - don't get me started. Pair of Ameraucanas shipped within my state (CO) just flat disappeared for 4 days. Left a sort facility on a Monday evening, next scan wasn't until late Thursday night scanned from the next sort facility to my PO. Called me at 6:15 am Friday to pick up. They are alive and well, to my great relief, but not a single person can or will tell me where they were for 4 days. Express, Red and White LIVE BIRDS box, made no difference whatsoever. I am not sure I will ever ship live birds again.
