Day 18 moved to hatch mode. IBW begins now. Day 21 PIPS! Now hatch!

I see Jay marks his eggs the way I did his and everyone else's. I started putting names on the eggs so I could track if one particular hen wasn't getting mated or her chicks seemed weak or whatever. If I don't know who laid the egg for sure, I leave off the name. I think it's a good idea if it's not too inconvenient to do.

Speckledhen.... We have a pip from one of Skye's eggs.

I had to reach in and turn the Jersey Giant over. It got stuck on it's back between an egg and the wall. I tried to ignore it and let if get up by itself, but she couldn't do it. I went back about 15 mins later and she was still on her back strugging. I reached in and quickly flipped her over and then I noticed the new pip. I hope I didn't hurt the humidity too much.

Little Mandy-babe is zipping and little Belle-babe is over giving encouragement.

I'm so addicted to hatching. This is not a good time to get rid of the brooder. (good thing I have a battery brooder in the garage that needs fixing up)

Little Mandy is here and now little Belle is trying to get little Charlotte to come out and play.

Oh, I think little Mandy is a girl. Very black leg fronts.

Woohoo.... keep them coming! One thing I notice is the Giants take longer to get their footing than the others. Last week Lisa noticed the same thing. Is baby Belle blue? It kind of looks like she is blue with yellow which would be a blue.

Cyn, wonder where I learned that???? yep, I mark them the way I got them from you!
