Delawares Humming Along/ Due Feb 25th / Hatch Complete

I'll probably get a few egg's from you one day so I can get some of the real Mccoy's. lol My two from McMurray aer decent layers but the egg's are medium to sometimes large and that's not what I got them for.I've always heard they were very good extra large egg layer's and famous for jumbo double yolkers.

Marlon, I'd love for you to have some of these. Kira's eggs are still about a medium to large, but she just started laying about a month and a half ago. Most of these eggs I set are large to jumbo.

Good luck on your hatch! Those eggs are hard to find. I'm on a who-knows-how-long waiting list for some.

I really want to get into breeding high quality Delawares. I like the idea of preserving a rare breed. I might even get into showing them.

Ironically, I disliked chickens for 30 years, then just a year ago suggested we get a few egg layers. 2 coops, 2 runs, and 30 chickens later..... I want more! and I am just waiting to get some Delies so I can build a big tractor for them.

At Day 14, still have 16 Delawares in the bator. I will re-candle in a couple days to be sure none have quit. I really love it when shipped eggs are a success, dont you? 16 out of 20 still in the running!

Thanks, guys. Kira is just so feminine-looking, isnt she? Seems that way to me with the Delaware girls.
Well, I may candle these tonight (Day 15) just to make sure no one quit on me, depends. I've been so tired lately that Ive been falling asleep really early. If that happens, I'll candle tomorrow.
