Distressed about a Lethargic chicken

I put 50ml in and I figure that I would wait until morning. I will give her some pedialyte first thing and follow with some food before I go to work tomorrow. I hope she drinks on her own.

I use water as lube and I always insert the tube all the way into the crop. If properly placed, one can feel it on the right side of the neck, so no need to guess if it's in the correct spot or not.

I use some IV line which is a little stiff if not warmed up, but if it is inserted in the windpipe instead would you not be able to feel it? All I'm saying is if I do feel it I still wouldn't know if it was in the right place. So if it's in the windpipe I couldn't feel it at all? I've tubed birds many times. Feeling their crop enlarge is how I know it went where it was supposed to. Otherwise they would croak right then and there.

You're doing great. I'm crossing my fingers for her

Thank you for the tips and tricks. I am not in the hospital move to corporate as part of the EMR wave. I don't have access to any supplies. This morning, I gave her 60ml of pedialyte waited an hour and I gave checked she felt empty so, I fed her the baby bird food 2.5 pedialyte to 1 powder. This morning I noticed small amounts of poop which resembled baby bird poop. Bright green with little lumps still more clear liquid then solids. Now, I have to leave for me 12 day. I put some pedialyte in her water and left her smashed hard boiled egg mixed with yogurt. She was more alert this morning and resistant to being fed. I will take that as a good thing.

Yes she just squirted - mainly clear with white and a few green globs as soon as I put her in her pen. She is walking around her pen a little.

Isn't it strange that they seem to know when to hold their poop? I've never had a bird poop on me when I held it, but they would let one loose when I let them go. Standing in warm water seems to have that effect on them too.
