No matter what you do it's all for nothing? [IMG]
I had bought dehydrated lime for my coop and run as it had an oder and flys. I tried to get the DE but my feed store doesn't carry it so they told me to get the lime. I just spent 2 hours raking out the coop and run and putting freah hay in nesting boxes and then limed 1 coop and run down good. I came in the house for a quick break when all of a sudden a heavy downpour came. Now all the lime I just put down is gone [IMG] My question now is will I have to start all over? Please say all is still good and the rain didn't ruin my efforts [IMG]

Actually be glad it rained. You did not want it up on top where the chickens could get to it. So turn that frown upside down. No you do not need to add anymore.

Um I think its ok if it gets wet... we use it in outhouse holes, obviously a wet place, and it cuts odors effectively... all you have to do is lightly sprinkle it if it did get washed away...

Lime works good on the oder. Is is also good for absorbing moisture.

DE is the one that's no good if it gets wet.

Be glad it rained, the guy at the feedstore should have told you to water it down after you put it down.
