Do you guys take vitamins?

Multi vit. Vit D and Glucosamine. The glucosamine has been a godsend for me. I tend to do alot of heavy physical work so my joints ached alot and when I started this it felt like all my joints had gotten a lube job!! A new lease on life!!

Multivit and minerals combined in one tablet...
Vit B complex (2 a day) ( a must!)
Co-Enzyme Q10 (I take 3 a day)

Nope, I don't take vitamins...........I try to get enough in the foods I eat!

I would LOVE to take glucosamine but it's always in a sulfer compound. I'm allergic to sulfer & sulfa-based products. I can't eat very many boiled/deviled eggs for that reason.

I share gummies with the kids, and take vitamin D + calcium (when I remember!)

We're pretty much pescatarian, so even if I forget- we get most of "good stuff" from food.

Anyone ever notice how your body "craves" foods it needs? Maybe for the nutrients that are in them?

I often crave mushrooms (not the white ones)& asparagus

Must be when I get low on iron or something.

Yes, I do take vitamins! I take the multi-vitamin in pill form , Glucosamine chondroitin, and I take some herbal pills too like red raspberry, and if I start feeling like I might be getting sick I take echinacea and elderberry and some lomatium.

I'm really glad to see so many folks taking extra Vit. D -- especially in the face of flu season with H1N1.

While I don't think Vit. D can do so much to help prevent catching the flu, I do think it could be HUGE in preventing the acute respiratory distress that seems to be what kills otherwise healthy people.. Vit. D is an extremely potent immune system regulator and the ARS is basically an over-reaction to the flu in the lungs. Your own cellular immune system bombards the lungs with TNF-Alpha, INF-Gamma, and other nasty pro-inflammatory cytokines... If your body doesn't have the substrate (Vit. D, among others) to "call off the dogs," as it were.... Yikes.

Like I said...I'm taking 5000 IU/day. The FDA recommends a measly 400 IU..

I've never felt better.

I use to take vitamins, but when I found out that my body wasn't doing anything with it, I stopped wasting the money. I've always been borderline anemic, so I started cooking in cast iron... dunno if that helped, but my iron has been good and I don't take the iron pill anymore.
