I’d love a rollaway nest box for so many reasons!

First off we currently have some normal homemade wooden nest boxes. However, the top is flat, so our flock has been sleeping on top of them, pooping on them too. I try to clean it as often as possible, but it’s so darn hard to clean! Also, we have mixed flock of all different ages, so for some reason, the younger ones like to sleep inside the nest box, which once again means a lot of poop too. So then when the hens go into lay their eggs, the eggs get filthy. I remove the younger chickens from the nest boxes every night but they are always right back in there in the morning! It’s like a vicious cycle!

To me, it sounds like those rollaway nest boxes would solve a lot of my issues! I can’t necessarily afford to purchase them myself, and I’m not the craftiest person either, so making one would be impossible for me. So it would be absolutely amazing if I won one!

My "coop" is the wash aisle of an old hog barn at my house. I rent from my grandma so can only change so many things. Being its the wash aisle it has cement sides/walls, and it doesn't lend itself to mounting anything on said walls. I have used kitty litter pails, and just letting them lay on the ground. All these options have led to eggs being broken, dirty, or eaten pretty consistently. Winning this would be amazing since I could build an easy box for it to sit on, and the eggs would roll away from them staying clean, unbroken, and uneaten. It gets pretty disheartening putting so much money into them, and coming out to gather just shells, or really dirty eggs so this would be a dream come true. Thank you for the opportunity to win this amazing prize!

I think this nest box would be helpful to anyone!
I am currently using 3 covered cat litter boxes! I have to keeps rock in them so they don't tip over when the hens come and go.They are a pain to clean because the chickens like to roost on top of them and the rocks make them heavy.I have looked a these before and couldn't spend that much on nest boxes,even though they would be wonderful.
Plus with the silkie hens I have they wouldn't be sitting on eggs I don't want them to be.Trying to break broodiness on 3 now! So their lots of fussing over nest boxes.

We have plastic milk crates for nest boxes. Hens have to jump down into them and sometimes break the eggs others have laid there. And the nests can get crowded.....

A rollaway nesting box would be so nice because no more smashed eggs from everyone trying to use the same nesting box. We have 4 nesting boxes, but all of them choose to use the same one. Soon the ducks will be laying eggs and I'm sure that'll make things even worse. You win some and you lose some, but you're always learning...

I hope someone who really needs this wins. My boxes are homemade and just fine. They are not crates, but real boxes. I am just fine and don't need to take this away from others who need this 'contraption'.
