Do your chickens peck at your shoes and clothes?

Hahahaha......I would almost pay my chickens to rip off my Brother in law’s wife’s fake eyelashes. They look like black caterpillars . I would die
:lau Oh yep, just reading along and come to your post and busted out big and loud in a very quiet house. I hope you didn’t cause me to wake anyone up! :gig

Well, my first encounter with a little pecker head was 5 weeks into keeping chickens. Like @microchick, my 5wo BO was sitting on my shoulder and lifted a diamond stud right out of my ear, jumped down and ran like hell (like they all do with a really tasty bug). I got to her just as she gulped it down. Guess what? I don’t wear earrings anymore. That’s four holes in my head that have grown up.

And my newest batch of spring chicks have always been fascinated with my very thin gold wedding band. Yep, in order to remain married, I don’t wear my solitaire anymore either. :barnie

Aside from the freckles, age spots, spider veins, and scabs (took one small scab on my shin 4-5 weeks to heal because of one very persistent pecker head), the only other thing that I’ve lost “twice” is a contact. :thIt’s a real wonder I haven’t lost my eyesight too. And guess what? I don’t wear my contacts much anymore! Glasses are much more protective!

Those dang birds certainly are fine trainers, aren’t they? :lau

My flock of 10 pullers Love my rubber boots that have flower and chicken prints on them... especially the two Barred Rocks, Amy Farrah Fowler (my little sweetheart) and Radical Chick, (named by my grandson🤣) The other breeds do it as well but those 2 the most. I believe they do it because of the bright colors of my boots but I also like to believe that they just love me and want to kiss my feet!🥰🤣
I do have a question kinda need non-related question. My mother-in-law told me that the bond the chickens have with me from when they were in the house as babies, will diminish because the chickens won’t want me anymore. They have been outside for a couple weeks now and still want me to love on them first thing in the morning when I let them out of their coop, and Amy Farrah Fowler and Buttercup run to greet me to be loved on any time during the day when I go out to their coop. Will they stop wanting me to love on them as they grow older? 🥲 Hopefully, my Mother-in-law is wrong. Her attitude is “when my dad was raising chickens, we didn’t make over them. They’re just chickens!”🙄
My biggest reason for babying them is so I can easily catch them if need be. I have cerebral palsy and have one good arm. I have to adjust to things in my own way. LOL!
