Well, my first encounter with a little pecker head was 5 weeks into keeping chickens. Like
@microchick, my 5wo BO was sitting on my shoulder and lifted a diamond stud right out of my ear,

jumped down and ran like hell (like they all do with a really tasty bug). I got to her just as she gulped it down. Guess what? I don’t wear earrings anymore. That’s four holes in my head that have grown up.
And my newest batch of spring chicks have always been fascinated with my very thin gold wedding band. Yep, in order to
remain married, I don’t wear my solitaire anymore either.
Aside from the freckles, age spots, spider veins, and scabs (took one small scab on my shin 4-5 weeks to heal because of one very persistent pecker head), the only other thing that I’ve lost “twice” is a contact.

It’s a real wonder I haven’t lost my eyesight too. And guess what? I don’t wear my contacts much anymore! Glasses are much more protective!
Those dang birds certainly are fine trainers, aren’t they?
