Does anybody get FLACK from Family and Friends for having Chickens?

yes i too have fallen victem a favorite is "when are we gonna eat them chickens of yours" wich is only bearable the first thousend times.

Chickens have gotten a bad rap for a long time. Most people have no idea that there are so
many types, and therefore so many different personalities! Something for everyone!

i know just what u mean. most people i meet, even my friends tell me how nutty i am and how horrible chickens are and how they wouldn't even come to my house because i have chickens....haha. they're missing out. i'd pick my chicks overthem anyhow lol. i'm relatively new at this whole chicken thing but it is somthing i am very adament about and i really do love my chickens!!

I would like to know when did the world go MAD?I mean where is the common sense?I for one have never cared what people think of me.people no matter what your station in life will tear you down look at most public people most people watch and wait for any small mistake and then the public is all over em.people are always looking for what they presieve as a flaw and tear you up for it.I know that every person in this world has flaws and are hiding something in there life there ashamed of.So just think of it this way there probably not happy people.if they pick at you about chickens.Just look at em like they lost there mind chuckle/laugh and walk away.If there treating you like that in your home kindly ask them to leave,since they don't care about your feelings don't let em stay.Also if your in there home and they act like that to you just excuse yourself and leave.Its ok to leave and not stick around for abuse cause thats what it is abuse.Dont argue with em just say i wont let you treat me that way and leave it at that.

What can I say, I love them and they make me happy. It seems like I am always waiting for time to pass by (even when I am busy), except when I am with the chicks. I always think I am only out there with them for a few minutes and it is more like an hour, everytime.

Most people think it's kind of neat that I have chickens. People who know me know I am an animal lover, so they are never surprised. I get a few odd looks from my students. I learned long ago not to care what other people think or say, so the very few that do not understand or approve really do not bother me at all. The only real problem I have is that my boyfriend hates me having them and complains about them. If I could fix that one, it'd be fine. He might as well get used to the chickens, though, because they are not going anywhere! Of course, when he finds out about those new chicks in the brooder right now....
