I have boots for Denver and will get some for Tucker.I will add more oily fish to her diet and see if it helps!
I canāt find much information on how protective musherās secret is. I donāt like using boots so I would want to use musherās secret instead
it would mostly be for salt, snow, hot pavement* and general pad protection
*I donāt think it ever gets too hot and if it does chances are I am not going outand I will still have boots incase of need
Fanta has boots too, they where very useful to have them when she cut her padI have boots for Denver and will get some for Tucker.
Good pointFanta has boots too, they where very useful to have them when she cut her pad
I keep hearing about boots are great! you should use them! But not many people talk about when you shouldnāt use them. I saw a video by someone who has a search and rescue dog and they talked about why SAR dogs donāt use boots most of the time. What they said made a lot of sense and isnāt discussed in the ad/sd community even though they push using boots a lot
reasons not to use boots
-dogs sweat from their pads, its one of their main whys to cool down
-will give them worse grip on most surfaces
-will change their gait slightly, which can cause issues after long term use
I canāt remember exactly what the issues where but the cooling one I think is very important to know, since most of the time people recommend boots for hot pavement
I think it depends on the brand too.How do you keep boots on a dog in the first place? The ones I have for my dogs just fall off and I don't want to tighten them too much.
Maybe...I got tall ones with more straps thinking they'd stay on better, but nope! I also got boot suspenders and they still come off!I think it depends on the brand too.
Hmmm weird! Idk thenMaybe...I got tall ones with more straps thinking they'd stay on better, but nope! I also got boot suspenders and they still come off!
I must not be tightening them enough. I'm afraid I'll cut off blood supply!Hmmm weird! Idk then
