Normal. That is what we call “drawdown”. Internal pips are usually 24 or so hours after drawdown, then external pips 12-24 hours after that. Then hatching 24-48 hours after external pip! So it sounds like they are right on track!
Oh glad you chimed in!
I thought so but didn't want to say cause wasn't sure.
Ever hatched double yolked quackers?

It’s only 5 that’s done that but it’s good to know it’s normal! And thank you for the timeline, that’s really helpful!!

So I put a humidifier in the room the bator is in and put one of my temp/humidity transmitters down to see where we’re at.

The room is 70F and 50% humidity, while the bator is 100.5F and 60% humidity. Is this difference in temp okay for when I take the babies out to help? The humidity is almost the same but not sure if the temp difference will have an effect? I have a heater ready if you guys think I should even it out more so let me know what you think!

I usually crank up the heat in incubator room to 75°F during incubation, incubator can maintain better that way...usually it's about 65, I don't measure humidity there.
Turn on your utility light about 10 minutes before pulling out egg to work on so it warms the surface. Out of curiosity, put therm on work surface. Use a dry work surface, a wet one can chill despite heat.

Oooooh yes you reminded me to move the lamp downstairs! Good to know they’ll be okay with the current humidity, thank you!

I can’t see the veins on 10 anymore but I thought that might be because they’re receding slowly for the hatch? Ugh so frustrating...

They wont start “receding” until after the chick has externally pipped and absorbed the yolk fully, even then you may still see them lining the shell but you wouldnt be candling at that point because your chick would be hatching!

Also when i assist i hook up a heat lamp so i have plenty of light and warmth in addition to making sure its humid enough, i usually do this in my bathroom so i can turn on a hot steamy shower to get the room humid then hook up a lamp close enough to give good warmth and light and i work on the floor to avoid dropping eggs!
