So opened up 7 and 12 and they’re dead.... didn’t even open up 10 cuz I know it’s dead :(

I’m gonna leave it in there closed so Gulliver has at least something in there with him. Poor babies :(

About to open them up to see what’s in there though so guess that’ll be interesting.

Sad all the doubles died :(

Maybe I didn’t have humidity high enough.... ugh this sucks
:hugs
It was probably lack of enough space/nutrients

So I opened them up and first of all, holy crap it’s a tight fit in there for two babies! I peeled away the shell and had trouble pulling the babies apart, they were so tightly tangled. All of them still had an unabsorbed yolk sack as you can see, though I accidentally poked a hole in one while removing the membrane so that’s my fault. They were beautifully developed but just didn’t make it :(

With one pair I feel like one died earlier and poisoned the other because it seemed a bit more mushy.

However, I’ve learned from this and intend to do it differently next time, so I guess that’s something :)

Next endeavor will be twins-in-a-cup! Though I’m gonna need a little while to recover from this emotionally I think cuz damn does it sting when they pass away!
Now I have one lone duckling I have to figure out what to do with. Giving it away to the home I found in advance doesn’t seem likely because I’m not about to put all my love and care into this baby only to give it away. And keeping it puts me in a slightly difficult spot because I’ll be going back to school this summer and they frown upon bringing birds across the ocean lol. If it was twins I would have possibly been able to classify them as research subjects but this little guy doesn’t really fall under that. Guess I have some figuring out to do!

Will post baby pictures once Gulliver fluffs up btw :D

Yikes there is zero wiggle room!
So sad :hugs

Wow.. it really looks as though there is simply not enough room! Maybe the lack of space just prevents them from any sort of movement to get air :hit

Now with twins in a cup... would you use two different single eggs ? Or true double-yolkers? Or maybe both? That would be an interesting variable.

Yep, just like when I was with mine. One lone chick, and no room in the egg for the twins. I warned you, it’s tough to deal with mentally once they make it to that point. :hugs
I would do what is best for Gulliver. It’ll need a flock and a buddy to grow up with.
