Gorgeous drakes.

My Runner drake Snoop lost his drake feather when he molted at age 1 and it never has come back.
I heard a story in Story Guide to Raising ducks that one of his ducks did that, started laying eggs and started sitting on a brood. Ducks can change gender....for any of you guys who don't know!!!

My boy just got his drake feathers...for the first time so I don't think he will be losing his this year.

My young drake Bonkers, about 3 months old, has kept his drake feather and hasn't molted, but another drake, about 10 days younger, still hasn't gotten his feather and is molting. Its so odd!
Now Bonkers is acting as the whole flock leader while Jax is in eclipse. Jax seems fine to relinquish the reigns, I assume temporarily.. lol. That part is pretty cool.

My Black East Indies drake obviously does not change plumage color, but my young Wood Duck drake is going to be fun to take gradual pictures of.

Awesome. Please share when you get some.
