I heard a story in Story Guide to Raising ducks that one of his ducks did that, started laying eggs and started sitting on a brood. Ducks can change gender....for any of you guys who don't know!!!Gorgeous drakes.
My Runner drake Snoop lost his drake feather when he molted at age 1 and it never has come back.
My boy just got his drake feathers...for the first time so I don't think he will be losing his this year.

My Black East Indies drake obviously does not change plumage color, but my young Wood Duck drake is going to be fun to take gradual pictures of.
