Hi all,
I found a duck egg in my backyard, which was abandoned by the mother for a week. It was around 60 degrees F outside, which I read online is the ideal temperature for storing an egg, so i figured it couldn't hurt to try incubating it in the hopes of saving the little dude. Around day 7, I candled the egg and the veins were red and it looked alive, so I kept with it. I've been turning the egg consistently, so I don't understand why it only developed on one side. There are still slightly visible veins, but I'm pretty sure this is not normal (see images). There was no movement when it was exposed to the flashlight.
