They got through the fencing? Those feathers make them look bigger than they are! Sneaky little critters lol. Still think Cocoa is a drake?
I also have a drake named Cocoa! :D
Females feather in faster than drakes. Nothing to do with coloring on Muscovy. Sorry you were talking about Cocoa lol did someone with KC knowledge speak up?
What did I miss? Someone need help figuring something out with KCs? I know a little about KCs. I might be able to help. :)

@Trimurtisan Finally got some pics of my KCs! :celebrate
They're not the greatest pics, but it's not exactly easy to get good pics of them right now. They're scared of humans. :barnie
I plan on taming them down this winter when I have more time though.

Yesterday I figured out which ones I'm saving back. :clap :yesss:
There was 18 females. I'm saving all the females plus 4 males. There are 13 males left over to butcher.

Originally I was going to save back 25 Muscovies, but I recently decided to save back only 24, (8 trios).
Then I'm saving back 22 KCs.
So I'm gonna have 46 ducks to care for this winter. :p
However I recently discovered that KCs are wayyyyyyy more messy then Muscovies. :hmm
So... I'm gonna have umm.... quite the challenge this winter, trying to keep the coop at least somewhat dry. :th
Yikes. Really yikes.
I am looking forward to it though, even though I know it's going to be quite challenging. :plbb
I'll keep y'all updated on how things are going.

Water ducks are pretty challenging since they love water everywhere! My muscovies are more interested on land and eating bugs than they are swimming.
