So an update on the ducks. I’ve handled them all, and the 3 young ones are the worst. I’ve put them in separate pens, and will continue handling them throughout the day. Out of the three, the Drake seems to be doing the best with handling and in the cage, while one of the ducks is nippy, flappy and stresses in the cage so she’ll be needing the most work, and the other duck is just needs pen work and a bit of handling.

I plan on handling my birds a few times a day, and put the young ones every morning in the cages, till the afternoon when I’ll take them out and lock them up.

I also, got into the first show as there were enough pen spaces for my nine ducks.

I have taken 9 of my natural mallards to show. 4 of which are drakes and 5 ducks. This show has lots of muscovies and Australian call ducks. Actually this year is the first year they have had lots of chooks enetered in. I will have results tomorrow, and if I can I will get some photos of the other ducks at the show.

P.S the muscovies at the show are mammoths, they are huge compared to my boys and girls. At least I’m one of a few people who breeds blacks so I wouldn’t really be up against the other colours.
