Why not enter it’s a good learning experience for you and your ducks.
So it turns out that a Muscovy drake isn’t completely mature until 2 years. But the age you can start showing them is around 9-10 months. My black drakes hatched on the 12/9/18 and they are around 5-6 months old. I’ll definitely get to be able to show them near the end of the year.

Besides letting them bathe themselves prior, is there any grooming that you do prior to shows? Do show ducks require any vaccines?

Btw, both your ducks and drakes are lovely!
I know that there are people who wash and blow dry there ducks. As fair as I know the ducks don’t need any vaccines as there aren’t really any viruses that ducks can get here. But the chickens would most likely need to be vaccinated as well as pigeons.

Update:
Ducks have been dropped off to another show today. I entered in all the mallards, and I was going to enter in my black Muscovy duck but her wound from my brothers dumb dog attacking her has left a patch on her back without any feathers.

Show results:
Ducks- 4th and 5th. Only a yellow award on the 4th (can’t remember the name of it). Kara (5th pic) got 4th and Lovely (6th pic) got 5th.

Drakes- 2nd and 3rd. Cheeky (2nd pic) got 2nd and Rex (4th pic) got 3rd.

Edit:

Also, I’m looking into getting a trio of quad of apricot Mallard call ducks. They have small bills, and look good quality. I’ll have to see if I’m allowed to get them though.
