Ducks and Geese Disappearing

I have a friend with a small pond, fed by a small stream. He tried to keep ducks and geese, but like you they all slowly disappeared without a trace. He tried with 3 different flocks, all with the same result.
It turns out his pond is also a haven for a family of mink that use it along with a section of river not far away.
It also may be Fox, coyote or bobcat that may also be picking off your flock when opportunity presents itself.

I’ve figured out what’s been getting my ducks and geese. I almost got them into the coop tonight but they weren’t having it and took off flying back into the pond the coyote was right at the edge of the pond here. There’s another picture of it going down to the bank, probably trying to get my ducks.

Yeah I just wish it wasn’t something so hard to take care of. The only trap I have that could possibly get it is a foot trap but then I’ll just get a bunch of raccoons and deer or possibly my pets so I can’t use that

Well, just set it at night, and pen your pets up, then unset it and let them loose.

Yeah it’ll just be so hard to get them unless I get lucky and one is just walking around while it’s still daylight. My dad saw one a few weeks ago but other than that we pretty much never see them

Your best bet would be to find a trapper who'll get rid of the coyote for you. Sorry for your loss!
