Tonight the spotlight is on Pearl! Pearl is a White Leghorn who lays 6 large beautiful white eggs a week. She is little skeptical of humans, but can be enticed with treats. She is a proficient digger, and the main architect, excavator, and laborer of a lot of dustbaths. She is also very cackly in a sweet way. She always has something to say. Some of my favorite things about pearl are her fluorescent shiny cheek feathers, her impressive rudder of a tail, and her disproportionately large comb and wattles. So here she is...View attachment 2073945

Please share pics and experiences of this beautiful breed!
She’s a pretty Leghorn.
Ihave one White Leghorn named Matilda. She does not have a sweet cackle. The only sound I have ever heard from her is a dinosaur yell! She’s always ordering me around, not that I listen! She complains constantly! She rarely lets me pet her. She’s like that good friend you have that you argue with about everything because you both know you can without being judged. A good friend. Besides, she is a great singer that will join me in a duet. 😜

Side note: I just switched to that new metal hanging waterer. I was using a plastic one that sat on the ground before. I love it! Keeps the water so clean and fresh and holds enough water for a couple days so it makes my chores a little quicker. Ill use the plastic ones for meat birds in a cpl months.
