I know they do. I hope our kids are all going to be OK Debi. Most of mine and my brothers and sister are in the Bay Area. I sent a text to tell them they can come here.

So far from what I am hearing, the surges are expected to be 2 feet on the coast. I pray it stays that way.

Me too and I can only bet my surfer friends are out there trying to break through.

It's the undertow they have to worry about though.

watching the news and experiencing a storm of worry and concern.

we are about a mile in from the coast and we live a stone's throw from the L.A. river . . .
*biting nails*

but even more than that, i'm horrified at the images coming of out japan.

japan has a so many, many souls. and so many ELDERLY folks who are among the most vulnerable during natural disasters . . .
so many families are trying to find each other among the debris right now.
my heart is aching watching images of entire homes being washed inland by the tsunami.

if you are the praying type and you are reading this please send out a little plea that folks everywhere affected by this crisis be blessed with rescue, relief and safety. ESPECIALLY the very young, the very old and others among us with physical and mental disabilities that make them more vulnerable.

The images we are seeing are horrifying. It does appear that other countries will be more or less spared of damage - Japan definitely got the very worst of it. The waves are just now hitting the Oregon coast but we're not hearing of a lot of damage in the US.

But the situation is still changing moment to moment - prayers for all.
