East RIver - South Dakota

Thanks mystry. I'm hoping to find someone local who has some to spare or fertilized eggs as I don't need or want a full hatchery order. Thanks for the info though, much appreciated.
I have a hen setting on some now, hoping for the best and warmer weather if/when they do hatch.

I don't know if it helps, I got my original one's at Runnings in Huron. They had pearls and whites last year.

Hello, I'm not sure if I missed information on here about this yet. What precautions should backyarders be taking because of the bird flu? Any changes in collecting eggs, free ranging, cleaning coops, etc?
Thanks,
Angela

Adam and Angie, it hasn't been discussed on this thread and I'm not sure about others.

I personally have no plan and am making no changes. I'm hoping " the strong will survive"

Basically "winging it!"

I haven't changed anything really either. I've always kept things pretty clean to keep the neighbors happy, and I don't have wild bird feeders up anyway after the dog brought a dead bird into the house (and put it on my bed!!!). I've cut back on their time in the yard some, I guess, but that's less about bird flu and more about keeping the garden plants safe.
I know we're in the migratory birds' flight path, but it's not like they land IN my yard or even close by, so I don't think there's much else I can do.
