Egg Color for Ameracaunas

I have purebred Self Blue Ameracauna hens from Cackle Hatchery. Is the egg color supposed to be kind of green? I don't currently have any olive egger hens. I sold all of those.

We have 2 Americanas and they both they a green blue egg.

That is the same color as mine.

They can. When people see "blue laying breed" they assume the breed will only lay a baby blue, but what it really means is they must carry the blue egg gene. So baby blue to a light green are accepted colors. Some breeders will breed towards bluer eggs, other towards the birds type and some both. I find hatcheries just go for quantity above all
