You mean those 19 weren't enough for you, James?

Well I did not put much Logic into it I guess. The 19 are a handful plus. They eat every meal like they have not eat in a week.I try to keep feed for them at all times but that is a full time job!! They are little porkers

I would not trade them for any of my birds.I have already got attached to them and can not wait for them to grow out.I have to be careful free ranging my teenagers.I have a hawk that I can not scare off.He is like clock work in the spring and fall.He usually leaves my adults alone but he has gotten a couple of my teenagers.

We have lots of hawk activity here as you can imagine, seeing the setting I live in. I never freerange them till they are over 12 weeks old (usually, except broodies and babies), but Isaac is super-alert and coupled with the alarms of the other two roosters, so far I haven't lost any to hawks. I've seen them dive after the guineas I used to have (rehomed, not eaten) and one dove and hit the satellite dish and almost knocked himself out, LOL. Still, no hawk losses yet.

Skye hasn't had fertile eggs in awhile and had not laid for over a month before she died (molt). Both of them belong to Smoky. I'm still hoping at least a couple more Dels hatch and both the Orps.

I sure am, Germaine! I'm about to go to bed, but wanted to report in here. We removed 4 Delawares and 1 Orpington that had expired. The other Orp and 2 more Dels are alive still (candled and saw movement, since we are already more than 8 hours into Day 22) Hopefully, by tomorrow morning, those remaining 3 will be pipped or hatched.

I'm sorry about the ones that didn't make it. And so happy for all the ones that did! I sure hope the last ones pip and zip today.
