Eggs Day 21...18 of 23 Hatched/ Pics post 76 (Superglued a Chick!)

Awe, so sweet. One can never tire of baby pictures! Speaking of that ... I am working on a picture project, showing growth and development. I should have started sooner, but ... Anyway, the plan is to photograph each chick at least 2 - 3 times a week. I think it'll be fun; and who knows, maybe even educational.

Love the pictures!

Cynthia,
Thanks for the pictures- I am literally pawing the ground! Superchick looks good- let's hope he eats. Baby Blue is adorable!!!! I may not be able to give that baby up ever! The rest look bright eyed and bushytailed!
Kathyinmo-that is a great idea- it would be a good record and a good reference for comparing later hatches!

That happened to me with the last chick of my last hatch. He was doing so poorly and taking so long compared to his hatch mates that I thought I would have to bury him the next morning. I went into the kitchen and my heart fell. There was no peeping from the incubator. I looked through the windows and didn't see him. I opened the incubator, thinking he might have fallen onto the incubator floor and died under the egg carton.

He hopped out of the incubator and ran across my counter. I named him Racer.

I have one of those HUGE Ike babies aka Fattie.

Good hatch Cyn.

Will be working to make sure that SuperChick is eating. We've seen it drink, but the last 'failure to thrive' chick did start out drinking, just quit later and refused food. Going to get some egg made for them today and see if we can perk up its appetite some.

Oh Cynthia, the chicks are sweet. It is so amazing how the little peepers are such survivors! Joletabey you are going to love your new babies. When are you getting them?

Cyn....I think you have started a "terrible" new trend!!! The Dels are taking over!!! The Dels are taking over. LOL. Glad to hear the hatch turned out well....and SUPERGLUE??!! Who would have thought of that??

My 13 little Issaclettes and Pepper/Lil Bit babies are simply the best!! Like some of the others have said....they just coming RUNNING to see you. So far it only looks like 2 of the 13 are for sure roos. Hoping to get 6-7 "nice, type-y" hens to keep Pepper company. He is still the best natured rooster....low keyed, protects his girls, never once has he been hostile or aggressive toward us or anyone else. (wish I could say that for others I've had)

Thanks for getting me (and so many others) into raising this breed. They are truly a lot of fun.

They are fabulous birds, Scott. So happy we got you hooked! That is my goal, to help folks establish their own flocks of these birds and teach a little bit about the standard (which I am still learning myself). I may not breed them for more than a year or two (physical/financial limitations), but by the time I quit, there should be others who have developed a new found appreciation of the breed.
