Gloria Jean, Skye was in her molt and I found her looking just awful suddenly one day. Her crop wasn't impacted or sour, but was very full and doughy--had apparently quit working. We've worked on her for two weeks, but it wasn't doing any good, possibly because she has another issue inside, probably ovarian infection/internal laying. When she is gone, I will put my two Brahmas back in with Suede since they started out with him. A blue Orp/Brahma cross is a beautiful bird, very large and cold tolerant due to pea comb and feathered legs (usually, the legs have some feathering, but not always). So, maybe someone will want an Orp/Brahma cross, as well as pure BBS Orps. Lost my first blue Orp hen last year, Velvet, to sour crop during a hard molt and Skye is going basically the same way. When Suede is gone, all his girls will be put back in the laying flock and I may move Dutch in there with the BR girls I have left so Zane will have company in there.
