Thanks for your answer.
I added a few more holes over the plastic liner to give a better air flow.

LOL They're VERY Del in nature - I think Rockodiles may be more in order as a name! But now, since they are the last children of my lost Caladan, maybe some will stay.

As to the Dizzles (Sizzle roo/Del hen - who thought that was a good idea???) ... well we'll see if any stay here... The Birchen ones are pretty with their gypsy faces and blue ears and silver lace. The one Birchen Boy is also barred, I'm at least going to watch him grow for awhile. He's awfully sweet, jumps out like his sister and sits on my hand. Oddly they're all as sweet as their Sizzle parents, funky, easy going, like to sit with you. But no curlies and no feather feets. They won't make bad layers. So I may grow out the pullets just to watch.

And I'm hatching the last of Caladan's eggs and hoping for pullets. Just cuz... I'm gonna miss that bird.

Would the wafer need being changed? I'm not in the slightest bit mechanical that's just something that I read about some time or other. You've prob. changed them since you've mentioned that the hovas are older so that probably isn't the problem.

Well that's good to know. I gave away my extra wafers (and sold my Dickey) when I lost my flock but it'd be wise to have extras on hand for my hova if the temps go up and up. Wish that my brain leaned more towards the mechanical side sometimes

Uh oh, I have never popped my window out when cleaning. I just use qtips and swipe. Hmmmm.

I do have one that does not want to keep the humidity so I use that for the incubating and never for hatching.

I can't wait to hear the updates on the eggs. It is almost like we get to do it too! I can't wait for my eggs to get here.........

Oh and I am wondering about the one that just don't develop for some reason or die. I have noticed recently that when I add water to the incubator (for humidity) that occasionally I splash water on an egg or even more.
I am wondering if this hurts the developing chick. I have been much more careful not to do that anymore. We will see if it helps.

There are so, so many factors that decide whether or not an egg hatches and many have nothing to do with bator issues. Sometimes, you just never know. All you can do is keep the temp in a tight range and the humidity from going too high or way too low for long periods.

I don't always pop the windows out, but over the last few years, they have had to be removed two or three times for various reasons.

Going into IBW on Saturday....well, Friday afternoon, if I'm being precise. Will candle them as we are placing them on their sides to be sure none have quit.

IBW starts, if I'm being specific, at 2:30 p.m. today. I will candle them after dark as I place them on their sides to be sure none have expired in there. I've only candled once during this incubation, so hopefully, all is well in there. Temps have been fine, no real issues at all. I do like my Spot Check thermometer alot and have confidence in it's accuracy (yes, it has a specific accuracy rating, but I'm always skeptical, LOL) The homemade egg-o-meter seems to work pretty well, too, though I may remake that with a different filler some day, other than the silicone.

There are 22 Delawares and 2 BBS Orps and I hope all are doing fine at this stage.

Good luck, Cyn, I feel like these are all my distant kin, since hopefully I will become a full fledged junkie this spring!!!

These will be heading down to Florida next weekend with their new owner; at least, however many he wants to buy will. If there are leftovers, they will be for sale. For instance, he didn't ask for Orps and may not want them if they hatch; I just threw them in for the heck of it.
