Don't limit his water or food. Give him time. Have you wet the feed to a soupy mix?..Try that. Is his vent clear of droppings..?

yes he (the one with diarrhea--name is Sduwey) is all clear and yes soupy food. Someone suggested feeding every two hours instead of continuous, what do you think?
some yawning is normal. Too much may mean they're too warm. Spouting water out of their nose is how ducks clean their nares. Even the adults do it.

Ducks drink a lot of water and the poo is more watery thank a chickens. It's more the color that you'd look for. Is it normal color with white? Normal for babies on dry food is usually sort of brown.

How's the munchkin today?

I will post a pic of Sduwey's poop, Puwey is a little better, MUCH less lethargic thank god, what a sad scary day yesterday! He has pooped a couple times but not nearly as much as the others. he is still bloated and still trying to push stuff out but it is not happening as easily as it should. He pushes a lot, constantly, with small rests in between. I have given him extra extra water and soupy food and olive oil since his crop looks soooo big. The others are not nearly that big. I have put a couple drops of ACV in their water too.... How much are you really supposed to add?

this is Sduwey's poop. he is a blue runner. he has been having LOTS of big poops and some are very very watery and greenish. I don't have a pic of Puwey's but his are like little tiny logs that are white and light brown but way dryer than the other ducklings'. IMG_9775.jpg IMG_9775.jpg IMG_9776.jpg

I knew it wasn’t coming out of the vent :D if it were intestines or unabsorbed yolk, then it would be from the umbilical area. But if too much didn’t get absorbed properly, that is what concerned me. I think now that he is mobile and feeling better, that part should dry out and fall off without any issue. But watch that it doesn’t get pulled on by others or the scabby part get pulled off and get infected.
X2 . I think the scab will eventually fall off. Hopefully, it does not have a becterial infection from not absorbing the yolk properly.
thank you!! so is it normal that he can't poop...? he pooped like three times now thank god but he pushes a lot and nothing comes out and when it does its very small.

also my other duckling is pooping a lot and it is very watery. is that normal or should i limit his food/water?
Just keep trying to get it to drink more water. More water = easier to poop. Do not give any oil!

If the medication is amprolium and/or bacitracin they will be fine. However, if it is a chick starter is does not have enough niacin in it.

Where do you live?

Sorry for the delay all, unfortunately I have been taking my puppy to the vet (well he isnt a puppy i guess but he will always be my puppy) he has spleen cancer and we just found out he only has a few months :( it is the worst.

All the ducklings seem to be doing great. Puwey is pooping all over the place I am so proud.

If you mean location: im in MA near a harbor.
If you mean where do the ducks live: we are moving to rhode island soon and they will have a nice big yard

Scab is doing fine, has shrunk a ton but isnt completely gone. He poops a ton but not as much as Sduwey. Sduwey is a blue runner; Huwey Luwey and Puwey are pekins.

I am thinking 90° is too high. Technically on Saturday they will be one week old. I plan on moving them to the bathtub this weekend so they have more space than just the plastic storage bin I have been using. It is just to sleep though, during the day i block off an area of the room and let them run around, and i have the heat lamp pointed at one side.

So i am wondering about the panting. There was tons of space away from the heat lamp, but they sat under it panting. I turned it off to see if they would stop but they started doing the loud chirp that they do when they are cold (unless im wrong and it isnt from being cold)

There was water and food in both the cool part and the heated part so why would they just sit there panting? I even moved the heat lamp over about half a foot to give them a break, thinking they lazily just didn't want to move. They quickly got up and went right over and sat under it again panting.

????

Sorry to learn of your pup's condition :hugsEnjoy him/her and SPOIL him/her ;)
You could raise the heat lamp to "turn the heat down". Next time you decide to raise babies, read up on Blooie's thread on MHP (heating pad) instead of heat lamp. I tried it for chicks & will never go back to heat lite ... They have night & day, calmer & not so skittish and you can raise outdoors. Best wishes with your duckies and again sorry to hear about your puppy :hugs
