English Shepherd as Poultry Guardian

I saw owl again after sunup and it was following a red fox. Fox had deflowered a couple roosters I intend to show. Dogs were in play mode so would go after fox I could see but they could not smell. Honey must have been barking at owl and fox. Wind took fox scent away. I'm a little ticked.

Fencing around barn area is going into hire gear. Will be making it goat and sheep tight. A little hotwire will be added for entertainment of foxes. Two paddocks in the immediate vicinity of barn will each be about 0.5 acres. Another area of about 4 acres will be divided into 6 paddocks, and another area will of about 6 acres will be made for alpacas and game chickens during summer months. That will likely be partitioned for interest of alpacas.

Chickens will have a lot of fence rows to forage, far more than currently available.

Fencing between me and neighbor and around barn not enough. The dogs are now coming in at border with another neighbor and coming between barn lot and house. We drove them off, but not sustainable. I am now using a fence post to whack them which they respect very well. Female neighbor saw my situation and said her spouse was too far away to do anything. I said shooting will be next.

Spouse came later causing some yelling that could be heard from some distance. Their efforts to contain the dogs are not working. I could hear their kids out playing. Somehow this needs to be done so as not to cause kids too much sadness. That said, my kids are not comfortable walking to our barn or pond because of their dogs.

After that drama kids got to ride bikes, Moon, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn are out. I also saw a Red Bat and flushed a Timberdoodle on path to barn. We still got it good overall.

Honey and Lucy in position to back up Pup Pup and Flo trying to line track out in woods.

I've started to shoot dogs. One husky down as of this morning. They came in and may have killed all but two of my American Dominques. They were carrying bodies back across property line. Owners have to have seen something. I will go back off to barn to pick of a dog until they quit coming over. Honey alone was only dog out and would not approach barn with those dogs present. Skulls will be used for 4H.

Just to clarify, reaction was for the loss of birds. You've given plenty of warnings about the dogs
