Ewww, that’s GROSS!!!

Hello fellow peeps!

I was thinking about this group and all the different experiences with chickens we all have. I’m really curious as to see.... What’s the yuckiest thing you’ve ever seen your chickens eat??? Now I know it’s not always good to have your feathered friends eat strange things, but I had to know!
I’ll get first:
One of my hens found a dead baby mouse( mousling?), and picked it up by its tail and ate it whole!!!!! She then acted as if nothing ever happened!

Again, just curious!

Not to be gross (oh wait..) but one of chickens accidentally took a huge bite out of a pile of chicken poo thinking it was a treat I had thrown I think even she regretted that one.

HELLO! The grossest thing one of my clucksters ate was a half smooshed snake laying about on the road. How it got there I don't know. But the gross thing was it kept twitching as they ate it...

The day that one of my ducks decided to try to eat a live snake tail first. She ran around looking like medusa for half an hour. Every time she'd gain ground swallowing, the danged thing would gain ground trying to get back out. Oh, and since it was head out... No way I was trying to get it from her and have it bite me.

I witnessed a small toad hop into the chicken pen and the lead hen catch it and tried to swallow it. I ran to take it away and she swallowed it.
For two days she acted like a zombie, hanging by the water and not eating.
I suspect the poison on the toads skin probably made her feel ill.
She survived and was back to eating by the third day, though still a little sluggish. GC

Neighbor's yorkie puppy, I think they thought it was a rat "I did too until I saw the pink toenails". Worst Tibetan sky funeral ever! Luckily they only had it a few days so they wern't too attached yet and I got the task of explaining that chickens aren't just into plants and grain.

Dog Poop hands down is the worst thing I've seen them eat.....

The two worse I've had was have a rooster swallow a small mole whole, and a young cockerel drink septic water

Frannie my feisty Bantam Cochin had a blast eating blood! Another hen had a small injury on her foot that left a spot of blood here and there when she walked. Frannie thought it was a tasty treasure hunt.
