Exciting New Brinsea App Controlled Incubator - Testers Journey!

You got eggs today but are holding them for a few days before setting them?
Do you know how long ago the eggs were collected?
I've kept them up to 2 weeks before setting them and no difference in hatch rate compared to fresher eggs. I'll be doing the same thing now since my girls are laying slow.

I mark the date laid on the egg so I can track them.

I can't wait to see what you hatch out! Maybe some more the same color as Marsha :ya
I need a new Marsha. She pretends to be broody any time a rooster comes around. Otherwise, she's not. She needs an award for best actor in a chicken costume.

Come January, when the breeding pens are set up, I'll have a few other pullets old enough to put in them. Maybe by then, she'll decide to be a hen again.

I may not have enough between what I just bought and the fresh ones, so I may have to grab some from the basement that over two weeks old too. I've done that before a few times. Hatch rate might suffer a little but with all these eggs, I'm not worried! 😊

She’s a smart lady 😅 getting away from the fellas when she doesn’t want to be messed with 🤣

I’m excited to see the newest from Brinsea!

We drove an hour today to my silkie breeders farm. She had said she had a deal for me on three dozen. We get there and her deal on three dozen was that I'd get four dozen! 😲 She tells me she put in nearly two dozen Salmon Faverolls and about a dozen Polish, with some of those being tolbunt. The rest are silkies. If I were to keep anything, it would only be silkies though.

This incubator is going to be full as I have some of my own. I've had 64 silkie eggs in my old Brinsea, but some of these eggs are quite large so I'll see what I can fit.

I'll be setting on Tuesday. So exciting! :celebrate

This is amazing! She hooked you up with great breeds too :highfive:

Good thing you have an overflow incubator you can use if needed 😉
