Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Oh, geez - thanks suzettex5 for not freaking us first-timers out anymore than we already are about the labor part & the weeks to follow it!

Guess there's no turning back now though! And hooray for your first appt! So glad it went well!

KellyHM - I was reading the paper they gave me on the ultrasound, and did realize that!

I've had one done with this office before for a possible cyst on my ovary, and they were rather considerate when it was just me in the room! I'm hoping for the best with it, if anything he can just turn around until I'm situated

He's very laid back, I think he'll feel more awkward than I will

Thank you, SpringChickens! I hope it gets here quickly too! It's all I can do to not blurt it out - I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to control my blabber-mouth!

When you can tell the sex depends on how good your ultrasound tech is. Mine told me that I was having a boy for sure at 14 wks and she had been fairly sure at 12 wks, but didn't tell me then just in case. It's harder with a girl b/c they're afriad they're just missing seeing the boy parts.

This might just be 1st trimester tiredness and queasiness, but anyone else not very into your chickens right now? I am literally thinking about selling all my chickens, I have around 40 and I am going to decrease the numbers really soon, they are seeming like more work than pleasure. Not sure what is going on, I use to love my chickens and get so much joy out of them. What's happening to me? Anyone else?

I'm feeling the same way about all of my chickens. Luckily my DH loves them as much as I did and he is doing all of the feeding and care of them right now. Maybe it's just hormones and will go back to normal... Plus once the weather warms up it may change too. I hate cold weather and have been freezing to death since being pregnant and will not go outside unless it is absolutely necessary.

Well, Doc told me today that in the next week or so I should be feeling a big growth spurt from Luke, I told him I felt that last week! So I asked him if the fact that Luke is measuring big, and apparently went through a his first growth spurt early, if that meant he would come early, and he said it's very possible, but who knows, he will come when he comes... So may have a mothersday or easter baby! Now Hubby is freaking out, he says I need to have the shower earlier, I told him the shower would be fine the way it is, it's 4 weeks before my due date. And now I really need to get things together, LOL!

This time of year is always tough with the chickens though. I hate that I dont get out to enjoy them more cause it's so cold. Still waiting for the warm weather, but then again...that's when I am due. I have been having frustrations with them cause my DH won't let me carry the food or do anything major. Good thing I have wednesdays off so I can clean the coop without getting yelled at. Not to mention I have too many roos (from the last hatch) and I have 3 broodies that are being total pains. I doubt they will hatch anything cause they keep getting kicked out of thier nests by the top birds. So I have a bunch of semi-incubated eggs

Kelsey - living dangerously with a shower so close to the due date! Easter would be too soon I think, that is almost 3 weeks ahead of schedule, but Mothers day would be perfect. I wanna be sure my egg is fully incubated when he hatches

Ok, I'm 29 weeks tomorrow...

Are any of the rest of you a little weirded out when you SEE kiddo move in your stomach? I mean, it's one thing to feel it but to actually see it... I was watching my belly this morning and I could see where his little hand (or foot?) was pushing out and moving. Not to mention when my whole belly jerked with a massive kick.

I mean, I know it's my baby boy doing it but just seeing my stomach move on it's own like that... DH said it reminded him of the Alien movies.

Just seems weird...

It's strange, BUT I LOVE IT!!! and in the next two weeks your baby will go through a massive growth spurt and instead of those jerky feelings it will be more of a rolling feeling and a softball size lump will roll across your belly. It's pretty cool!

I had that too....I am having my husband feed/water everything for me...and now that I'm in the (almost) 17 week stage, I'm getting it back...going to a show this weekend!

That's good to know. I hope I get my chicken mojo back soon also!!!
